Live Music, Fight Apathy

Live Music, Fight Apathy

Recognize this place? This is the Café Campus, the first place where the band has ever performed, and where they also played last November… A place that is always synonymous with unique moments and special happenings!

This was during the special weekend for the filming of the video clip “Open Your Eyes”… Before the big day, everybody who had joined us could enjoy a very special concert by the band, different events with the band (ice skating, amongst others, and a very special dinner), different French Canadian traditions, including the cold, that freaking cold winter of ours – a pure delight for Sierra, from New Zealand… she just loved it or maybe not so much! Sef also teaches us why maple syrup is for real men… And there’s quite a logic behind all of this! And there was also some kind of wasabi contest that week-end… I think that Sef, after all those jokes going on about him being unable to become a Japanese God, wanted to prove that he truly was a Japanese God, something nobody but him could become…

People came all the way from UK, Japan, United States, New Zealand, France, and other parts of Canada as well, some of them taking flights, others driving for hours… And it was a crazy, but well worth trip, for each and every one of them! Marjo interviewed some of them after the show, while someone else just took over during dinner, going and interviewing other fans about the reasons why they were there!

It felt really special to see this video again… To see all those people gathered together… It feels like yesterday, though it has actually been quite a while already… Can’t help but be even more excited for what’s to come, with all those rumors about the band going on tour in so many different places… Everyday will look pretty much like this, then… 🙂

PS: The man you see used to be Montreal’s mayor… He was involved in quite a bit of scandals recently, and had to give up on being mayor… But I can assure you, what he said in the video was for real… 😉

I love watching these videos and pictures of people smiling, having a good time, feeling confident of being themselves because they are surrounded by people that simply accept them for who they are. No artifices, no masks to wear to show off or to hide what you are afraid that others might discover about you. The mix of cultures, accents, styles is just amazing to see!!

Differences melting together to create a unique and colourful portrait!

It’s so special to see all of these faces! If you talk to any of these guys that were interviewed at that concert, they’ll tell you stories about the band in its very beginning. I am talking about the time where we had only 3 songs on our Myspace player! The time where our videos were filmed with an old camera lol! The time where we didn’t have an album yet… no SFCC, no Twitter page!lol!! It’s great to remember these times, it shows us how we have come a long way all together. I believe they are souvenirs we should never forget!!

We have built every thing from scratch but most important, we focussed on the people from the very beginning!! Sending personal messages, taking the time to comment pictures, blogs and other stuff that people would put on their Myspace page!!! Proud of that!! 😉
