Beautiful Mess

Your Favorite Enemies’ First EP
Interview Part 2
Beautiful Mess

“Your Favorite Enemies… a band for some, a call-up for others… an uplifting family and an upper room for some… human rights activists and independent free thinkers for many… whatever they might incarnate, represent or be for everyone of us, YFE’s band members will undoubtedly remain brothers, sisters, loved ones and real friends…”

Your Favorite Enemies has always had a very clear view on what they believed in… and what they did not believe in. Controversial in its own way, since 5 years ago, the band believed that yes, “we are all the same”… Different backgrounds, different countries, different languages, different beliefs, but one same need… To be loved, to have a place to belong, a place to call home. This is the point that is common to all the song that appear on “And If I Was To Die In The Morning… Would I Still Be Sleeping With You”… a sense of belonging, for both the band and the fans…

The DIY spirit, there is no doubt about it, has always been part of Your Favorite Enemies’ story. When they decided to go one way, they would go all the way, despite all the people telling them they were headed for a dead-end. When you believe in something, believe in something until the end. And if it’s to be a mess, may it be the most beautiful mess of all. I am not sure we can consider all of this a mess… But I can surely say it is beautiful…

Waking up everyday on the same side of the bed, putting the same type of jeans on and living the same day over and over again…
We all say ”no not me..!!” But can we go a little further??
I love the part where Alex shares about how much richness resides in the community spirit, in reaching out to one another.I guess it says it all: The struggle is there for all of us, but getting out of our loneliness, we can be empowered realizing that we are not alone!! Then our main ”no not me” slowly becomes ”yeah…I admit it, me too…but who cares, together we can light up each other in discovering more and going further”!!
I loved this interview!! It’s raw, it’s true and it shows the true heart of Your Favorite Enemies. I am glad to see that this heart is still there leading them in who they are today!!
