From Tokyo to Kyoto under the rain!
We all went in our different rooms for the night after our late dinner… And it has been a very eventful night, at least for some of us! Call this the influence of Japan on some of us!
We started our day split into 2 groups. Some of us went to get some more rental gear while the others stayed at Starbucks… where else, really? 🙂
First step for the first crew: solve the puzzle that is packing all of our suitcases and music equipment in our 2 vans! We managed to do so with even a little extra space left…
During that time, at Starbucks, something very important was taking place. Indeed, his daily coffee dose was something very important to Alex this morning!
We then left for one last pick up at Korg’s office, where everyone found something quite interesting to play with! Want to please musicians? Let them play with instruments, they’re happier than kids in a candy store filled with toys where everything is free 😉
After endless detours, we found an access to the highway, and hit the road, heading to Kyoto! Not very long after, we stopped at a rest area, and got our fix of Japanese food! Menu: Oden, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, udon, yakisoba! For those of you who don’t know about Japanese convenience stores, the food they sell is very cheap, but delicious, and you have a wide selection of food to choose from! Not exactly healthy, but always exciting! Whenever we get there, it always becomes an adventure on which we make new discoveries. Today’s was the oden… And it got mixed opinions!
We finally made it to the temple, where we unpacked everything, tried the acoustic guitar, listened to Kosho’s father play music, and shared a meal all together! We were blessed with some home cooking, a delicious nikujaga for all of us!
Definitely, we can’t deny this is home… From the very warm welcome we received to the conversations we had, we really can’t deny this same passion that lives within each and every one of us. We are back home… and it never felt so good to be here!!!!
“Find your people, and you will find your purpose”.
A simple and short sentence. But it is when you feel at home that you truly realize how impacting it is. Because no matter where you find yourself around the world, as long as you are with people you love, you will be home. And we can definitely say that we are home!
We’re now ready to go to bed… well, almost ready 🙂

Из Токио в Киото под завесой дождя!
После позднего ужина мы все разошлись по комнатам… И для некоторых из нас эта ночь была полна событий! Назовем это последствиями влияния Японии!
Мы начали день, разделившись на две группы. Часть из нас отправилась арендовать недостающее оборудование, в то время как остальные остались в Starbucks… ну, в самом деле, где же еще? 🙂
В первую очередь группе №1 предстояло решить задачу по загрузке всех наших чемоданов в 2 фургона! В итоге в них даже осталось свободное место…
В это время, в Starbucks, происходило нечто очень важное. Получение ежедневной дозы кофеина, несомненно, было для Алекса очень важным мероприятием!
После мы заглянули в магазин Korg, где каждый нашел “игрушку” по душе! Хотите порадовать музыкантов? Дайте им возможность поиграть с инструментами — они будут счастливее, чем дети в магазине, полном бесплатных сладостей и игрушек 😉
Совершив бесконечное количество поворотов и объездов, мы наконец выехали на трассу, ведущую к Киото! Через некоторое время мы остановились на площадке для отдыха и полакомились японской едой. В меню были: оден, окономияки, такояки, удон, якисоба! Если вам не доводилось бывать в японских минимаркетах на заправках, — еда, которая здесь продается, — очень дешевая, но при этом невероятно вкусная! К тому же, витрины просто ломятся от разнообразия блюд — не всегда здоровых, но уж точно необычных! Всякий раз визиты в такие магазинчики превращаются для нас в полные открытий приключения! Сегодня мы познакомились с блюдом под названием оден… И наши мнения по поводу него разделились!
Наконец мы добрались до храма, где распаковали вещи, опробовали акустическую гитару, послушали, как играет отец Кошо, и все вместе пообедали! Мы насладились домашней едой — вкуснейшим блюдом под названием никудзяга!
Невозможно отрицать: мы дома… Все — от оказанного нам сердечного приема, до бесед, которые мы вели этим вечером, — демонстрировало ту страсть, что живет в каждом из нас и нас объединяет. Мы вернулись домой… и еще никогда не чувствовали себя здесь так хорошо!!!
“Найди своих людей — и ты найдешь свое предназначение”.
Короткая и простая мысль. Но, лишь испытав это ощущение дома, в полной мере понимаешь ее значение. Ведь не важно, в какой точке земного шара ты находишься, — пока тебя окружают люди, которых ты любишь, ты будешь дома. И мы можем с уверенностью сказать, что мы дома!
Ну, а сейчас мы готовы отправиться спать… ну, почти готовы. 🙂

So lovely to see you home in the temple!! One day…one day…I truly believe I will find a piece of myself there too when I am able to go!! And listening to Kouei Nishimura playing live would be a holy gift!! I have his cd’s “Mercy” and “Pure Land” and listen to them often, especially during prayer times 🙂 Debra and I listened to them in the car on the way to visit the Rapps in Indianapolis and she LOVES them. I’m going to order another copy of each – one for my dad’s birthday and one for Debra – too wonderful to keep to myself! Blessings to all!! praying!! you know it! 🙂 <3
