Against the Flow
Today was a quiet day. That is, until 4pm! We started loading the van and getting everything ready for the show tonight! We were playing at the Hot Damn, a very cool venue in Sydney! We had our first encounter with Sydney traffic on our way there, and it took us an hour and a half to get there! And what an incredible time did we have!
We’ve been told so often that we needed to dream small or not dream at all in order to avoid being disappointed when those dreams would never come true. That we needed to take no risks in order to never fail. That we needed to go with the flow in order to shock no one. That we needed to keep our voices low in order bruise nobody’s ears. That we needed to be gray in order not to clash against the colorlessness of others.
But we dared trying something different, inspired by others before us. A little spark. A little idea. It’s all we need… We had the guts to believe in our dreams and go against the flow, no matter how many times we were told we would fail and that we would never make it, never make our dreams come true. But what is it to make it, really? In a recent interview, Alex said that he felt like he had made it… Why? Because he was now able to assume what it meant to “be”, for whatever it means, with all the imperfections and paradoxes it brings.
And “being” is what brought us here, at the other side of the world, feeling totally privileged to tour with our family and meeting long time and new friends every night we do what we like best… Some nights are a wonderful epiphany, some others are tragic catastrophes. But it’s as real and honest and honest as it gets. Because we fully embrace what it means to “be”…

Сегодня у нас выдался очень спокойный день. Правда, продолжалось это спокойствие только до 4 вечера! А потом мы стали загружать в фургон вещи и готовиться к вечернему концерту! Нам предстояло выступить в Hot Damn, очень классном местечке в Сиднее! По пути на площадку мы впервые столкнулись с местными пробками, в связи с чем на дорогу у нас ушло полтора часа! Но каким же прекрасным был сегодняшний вечер!
Мы часто слышим, что, если уж и мечтать, то осторожно, а лучше и не мечтать вовсе, ведь, когда из этого ничего не выйдет, не оберешься разочарований; слышим, что лучше не рисковать, чтобы не потерпеть неудачу. Говорят, что нужно быть тихими, чтобы не повредить чей-нибудь слух, и серыми, чтобы не выделяться из общей бесцветной массы.
Но мы, вдохновившись примером наших предшественников, осмелились быть другими. Крошечная вспышка. Небольшая идея. Этого достаточно… Нам хватило смелости поверить в свои мечты и поплыть против течения, сколько бы раз нам ни говорили, что у нас ничего не выйдет, что мы ничего не добьемся и никогда не сделаем свои мечты явью. Но что вообще значит чего-то добиться? В одном из своих недавних интервью Алекс сказал, что чувствует, будто уже достиг того, к чему стремился… Почему ему так кажется? Да потому, что сейчас он понимает, что значит «быть», во всех смыслах этого слова, со всеми несовершенствами и парадоксами, которое это понятие несет.
И именно «быть» привело нас сюда, на другой конец света, удостоив нас невероятной чести путешествовать со своей семьей и каждый вечер встречать старых и новых друзей, делая при этом то, что мы любим больше всего на свете…Некоторые из этих вечеров – невероятное откровение, другие же – трагическая катастрофа… Но, как бы то ни было, все происходит искренне и по-настоящему, ведь мы полностью понимаем, что значит «быть»…

I really like the pictures where we see only blurry shadows !! It feels like we’re in another world! Something different than any dream we can imagine!! A great discovery!
