The multiple colors of Australia
We left Sydney after the rehearsal at around 6:30pm. Blame it on the jet lag maybe, but it was already so dark at this time of the day we were all sure it was 10pm! The sun seemed to have set for a long time already…
Packing all of our gear into the trailer, we realized we’d have to pile up some of the suitcases into the van as well. Flashback from China, where getting in and out of the van was a true obstacle course!
It took us around 14 hours to get to Brisbane, including several stops on our way so YB and Matt could share the driving! And obviously we needed to stop for food, so we did a short stop at McDonald’s, and no, Jeff didn’t have anything 🙂
Driving by night in the countryside that spans between Sydney and Brisbane sure has its disadvantages, but we had the privilege of seeing our very first Australian sunrise, a true blessing we all woke up to watch. That new day unveiled itself and its promises in a myriad of colors, as if they were dancing before our eyes, telling us we had no idea what we were about to share with the people here in Australia, that we still had lots and lots of things to discover the true nature of the heart of the country, its people.
The happy campers got some additional sleep, as we still had quite a few hours of driving ahead of us!
2 hours later, we stopped by the ocean, where some of the guys couldn’t resist, dropped their pants, and jump in the water! A little cold, they said, but totally worth it!! A moment as simple as it gets, but that is unforgettable, a testimony that even the smallest moments can turn into eternal memories!
We then stopped at a small beachside restaurant, and had breakfast – no, sorry, brekky as they call it here – on the open terrace, before we headed to a beachside Starbucks, and then to our beach house in Brisbane! Ok, it is not exactly close to the beach, but it’s good enough! So yes, that is what we call a good start for a tour! Blessed to be able to share all of this with you!

Thanks for sharing with us this first morning you had in Australia. Your first experience seeing the sunrise. It’s wonderful… so splendid! I wish you to live wonderful mornings like this all along this tour. May your eyes be blessed and spoiled by a lot of beautiful sceneries, by witnessing a lot of beautiful people dancing on your music. This tour promises to be amazing! It’s only the beginning!

oh wow, I didn’t think you’d have the chance to see the ocean right when you’d arrive in Australia! I am very glad for you guys for this “Voyage à la Mer” that you had the chance to live together! Now the story is all to be written!

Красочная Австралия
Завершив репетицию, примерно в 6:30 вечера мы выехали из Сиднея. Вероятно, все дело в смене часовых поясов, но в это время стояла такая темнота, что все мы были уверены, что на часах все 10! Казалось, солнце село уже очень давно…
Загружая оборудование в фургон, мы поняли, что кое-что из вещей нам придется взять с собой в салон. Нам тут же вспомнился тур по Китаю, когда всякий раз процесс загрузки и разгрузки фургона превращался в настоящую полосу препятствий!
С учетом остановок, во время которых YB и Мэтт сменяли друг друга за рулем, дорога до Брисбена заняла у нас около 14 часов! Нам также пришлось ненадолго заехать McDonald’s, чтобы перекусить, и, нет, Джефф ничего там не ел :).
У поездки по ночным проселочным дорогам, соединяющим Сидней с Брисбеном, есть свои недостатки; зато нам посчастливилось впервые на австралийской земле наблюдать восход солнца – настоящее благословение, ради которого мы открыли глаза. Тот новый день со всеми его обещаниями распустился перед нами мириадами красок, которые, будто танцуя, говорили нам о том, что мы и представить себе не можем, насколько чудесные мгновения нам предстоит пережить вместе с австралийцами, сколько всего узнать о сердце этой страны – ее народе.
После этого, довольные и счастливые, путешественники вновь погрузились в сон, ведь впереди у нас оставались часы пути!
Двумя часами позже мы остановились на берегу океана, и некоторые из ребят не смогли удержаться и, сбросив штаны, окунулись в волны! По их словам, было немного холодно, но оно того стоило!! То был момент невероятно простой, однако незабываемый; доказательство того, что даже самые, казалось бы, незначительные мгновения, могут превратиться в воспоминания, которые будут жить вечно!
После пляжа мы расположились за завтраком – здесь его называют “brekky” – на открытой террасе небольшого прибрежного ресторана, а завершив трапезу – отправились в Starbucks неподалеку, после чего поехали в арендованный в Брисбене пляжный домик! Ладно, ладно, на самом деле он не совсем не пляже, но мы вполне довольны! Вот что мы называем отличным началом тура! И мы счастливы, что можем делиться всем этим с вами!
