After the Manchester Bombing…

Written by Your Favorite Enemies. Posted in News

A text by Alex in answer to the Manchester events:

Every morning following such a horrifying display of disasters, might they be perpetuated in familiar places or far away, reminds us how fragile gathering peace and communal empathy look like before the implacable nature of hatred… How the price for forgiveness and love seem to be more and more difficult to pay for people of good will… as we are to be facing the most horrible fears and dreads there is, which is to become the same monsters we are now so deeply despising… At least that’s always my personal decision to make.

Happy Birthday, Ben!

A quiet soul in the band, he’s however the one who probably likes his music the loudest. Although bass is his main darling, he also plays pretty much every other instrument, and if he can’t right now, he’ll definitely learn it! Did you know that Ben went to Germany to learn how to craft his own vinyls? If you’ve got a vinyl from the “Spin It ’Til It Bleeds” collection from Your Favorite Enemies, he’s the one who’s done it!

May you find more limits to break in order to fly even higher this year, brother!

Wish Ben a Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, Alex!

A man of honor, true to his word, faithful. A loving and caring friend. Did you know that the DIY aspect of Your Favorite Enemies was largely due to him? Growing up listening and being inspired by hardcore and punk bands such as Fugazi, Minor Threat & Black Flag, to name only these, Alex discovered the joys of being totally independent in his own art. His favorite projects are those that are said to be impossible, but just as so many people told him Your Favorite Enemies was a bad idea, he always pushes through, as if to prove everyone and himself that “impossible” shouldn’t be a part of anybody’s vocabulary. Poet and lyricist of the band, he has been all over the world discovering a little more about himself every time, which he transposes and shares with us through his writings, that seem to become a little more personal every year.

Alex, thank you for allowing us all to embark of this crazy journey that Your Favorite Enemies is about with you. May this year bring us even further, all together!

Wish Alex a Happy Birthday

When Freedom Is A Place In Time

Written by Your Favorite Enemies. Posted in News

“ I thought I would write. I thought it might give life to a personal album before re-immersing myself into the overly frantic reality of a new Your Favorite Enemies record creation. I thought I would read. I thought I would grieve. I thought it would be peaceful. And as simple and strange as it may sound, as weird and bizarre as it might be, I accepted to be, I didn’t try to fit in.” – Alex
